With five ioProx readers to choose from, you will find one that’s right for your application. Their attractive, compact, weatherized and vandal-resistant design makes them suitable for installation in various indoor and outdoor environments.

Diagnostics

On reader power-up, an internal self-test routine checks and verifies the setup configuration, and initializes the reader operation.

 

Security

The readers recognize over 16.7 million unique codes. Using Kantech's KSF cards (Kantech Secure Format) provides increased security and absolute guarantee of no duplication of cards.

  • Affords high reliability, consistent read range characteristics, and low power consumption in a single, easy-to-install package

  • Features multicolor LED, internal or host control of the LED, and/or beeper and a beeper "off" switch for silent operation

  • 26-bit Wiegand protocol interface, compatible with all standard access control systems

KT-NCC (Network Communication Controller)

 

 

Powerful and Reliable

Replacing PCs, upgrading operating systems, buying third party network communication devices …all of these and more can play a part in the expense of an access control system. The Kantech KT-NCC (Network Communication Controller) helps to greatly reduce all of these factors by separating the management of the database from the PC and bringing it into a reliable embedded panel architecture. The KT-NCC brings the same powerful functionality formerly found in the PC-based NCC to an external panel, greatly reducing the costs and support needs associated with maintaining PCs and operating systems.

Panel architecture provides easier system management, higher reliability, and lower total cost of ownership.

The KT-NCC removes a layer of PCs, making your access control system easier to manage, easier to expand, and much more reliable. Now, instead of relying on a PC for communication between the controllers and server, the dependable KT-NCC panel is in control. Fewer PCs to maintain, operating systems to upgrade, and security emergencies to manage…all of which will make the IT and security staff very happy.

Onboard TCP/IP eliminates the need for an external network communication device.

A networked access control system is a necessity with today’s global companies. The KT-NCC makes it much more cost-effective to have such a system by including TCP/IP onboard, eliminating the need to use an external communication device to link to the network. Another money-saving feature, onboard TCP/IP eliminates the costs associated with buying and maintaining a third party communication device.

Supports any combination of up to 128 controllers (KT-300, KT-200, or KT-100).

The KT-NCC easily communicates with any of the controllers in Kantech’s portfolio, making it a very powerful way to expand an EntraPass Global Edition system. The KT-NCC supports 128 controllers in the following ways:

  • 1 RS-232 loop with up to 32 controllers

  • 2 RS-485 loops with up to 32 controllers each (total 64)

  • 4 IP loops using a Lantronix universal device server with up to 8 controllers per loop (total 32)

Embedded redundancy ensures your critical data is always protected

Redundant communication paths ensure that, should communication to the main EntraPass server fail, the KT-NCC will automatically connect to the EntraPass redundant server. This safeguards important security data and ensures business continuity.

Global functionality like anti-passback, guard tours, and alarm systems is easier than ever to implement and manage.

The global functionality of the NCC remains as powerful as ever. For example, using the global anti-passback feature will help your customers prevent a cardholder from passing back his or her card to a second person to gain entry into an access-controlled area, regardless of whether those areas are in close proximity or far apart. In addition, the powerful EntraPass Global Edition with KT-NCC allows users to program up to 100 partitions to more effectively manage system-wide alarms from the access control station. This gives customers the option of using the access control hardware instead of purchasing separate burglar alarm panels, saving a significant amount of money. Moving this global functionality from the PC to the KT-NCC enhances overall performance because of the unreliability often associated with PCs. If the PC goes down in the PC-based NCC, the global functionality is lost, creating a potentially dangerous situation.

Seven LED modes provide quick assessment of system status

Further extending its ease-of use, the KT-NCC comes equipped with LEDs that provide the user with an easy way to quickly assess the system status:

  • 1 flash/second: KT-NCC is communicating with the server

  • Fast flashes: KT-NCC is no longer communicating with the server

  • Steady on (15-30 second): KT-NCC is starting up

  • Quick flashes (10 pulses/second): Preparing to reboot

  • Quick flashes (5 pulses/second): Firmware update

  • 1 long flash/second: KT-NCC is in factory reset mode

  • 4 flashes on per second and 1 second steady off: KT-NCC

Flashable firmware enables quick, convenient updates

The KT-NCC, along with EntraPass Global Edition, is designed to grow with even your largest customer by allowing new functionality to be flashed from the EntraPass server to each KT-NCC. This saves an enormous amount of time because you don’t have to manually update each controller, and ensures that your customers can take advantage of new features and functionality immediately.

Battery backup eliminates need for UPS.

The KT-NCC includes a 12V/7amp battery which provides a minimum of 4 hours of backup to ensure continual operation, preventing runtime data and global functionality from being lost due to complete power failure. This eliminates the need to purchase separate universal power supplies for each panel (which can really add up), further lowering the total cost of ownership of your customers’ security system.
